Last week kicked off two highly anticipated projects for Walker County Schools. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held separately for both Cordova Elementary School and Dora High School. Board members, school officials, and project team members attended the ceremonies to mark the special occasion.

Both projects were designed by Lathan Architects for Walker County Schools. The new facilities will feature state-of-the-art technology, providing a modern learning environment for students and staff. The current schools date back to the 50's and 60's. The community is excited about the new upgrades, which promise to enhance educational opportunities in Walker County. A few upgrades include an auditorium and theater, a new lunchroom, additional classrooms, and increased parking.
